Imaginationthelady delivered a performance full of class and determination when capturing the prestigious Edgewood Stakes at Churchill Downs.
The beautiful daughter of Not This Time came into the race off a tremendous seasonal debut in the Appalachian Stakes at Keeneland during the Spring Meet, where she was only narrowly denied. That effort proved to be the perfect preparation heading into Churchill Downs, where she took a deserved step forward in the Edgewood.
Breaking sharply from the gates, Imaginationthelady settled beautifully along the rail in mid-pack under Tyler Gaffalione. Travelling strongly throughout, she remained poised and full of running as the field approached the home turn.
Turning for home, Gaffalione angled her out and she responded gamely, digging deep in the closing stages to get up and win by a head. It was a performance that showcased her grit and determination under a smooth and professional ride from Tyler.
