Two Win Day at Keeneland

Brendan Walsh Racing followed a big weekend with two impressive winners at Keeneland this afternoon.

Minoushka (GB) (Starspangledbanner (AUS) x Mouille Point (GB) was an impressive winner in her first start on American soil. The Group Three placed filly showed plenty of promise in France prior to her import and that form was not lost upon the local bettors as she went off the even money favorite. Minoushka (GB) broke awkwardly from the outside post and jockey Tyler Gaffalione allowed her to establish position towards the back of the field. The filly appeared unhurried through the backstretch and around the final turn. Tyler remained patient on the rail until he found ample running room and asked the filly to find the finish. Minouskha (GB) showed a good turn of foot to surge past her Allowance level rivals in the final furlong and score by three lengths for French based owner Ecurie des Charmes. Congratulations to everyone involved with this talented filly!

In the next race, Claret Beret (Not This Time x Bessie M) scored an impressive win for owner Qatar Racing over 7f on the dirt. The three-year-old filly broke nicely but was slightly slower into stride than her rivals and took up fifth position through the early stages of running. Claret Beret relaxed into a nice rhythm down the backstretch and into the far turn, at which stage jockey Tyler Gaffalione asked her to begin to improve position. The filly traveled smoothly outside of the leaders at the top of the straight and found the front by the furlong pole. Claret Beret continued to open up to win by an emphatic six lengths. The filly was claimed in this event and we wish her new owners all the best with her moving forward! Congratulations to Qatar Racing.
