Double Neat Secures Trainer Title at Ellis Park

Double Neat (Oscar Performance x Cocktail Hour) was a tough winner of the Fourth race at Ellis Park on Monday – a victory that secured a shared Training Title with Steve Asmussen.

The three-year old gelding stalked the pace in a nice rhythm under jockey Edgar Morales through the first six furlongs of the one and one sixteenth mile event. He sustained a continuous run down the stretch to reach the leaders inside the final furlong and held off an opponent on the outside to secure victory by a neck.

The win topped off a fantastic Ellis Park meet for the team at Brendan Walsh Racing.

The meet was highlighted by our two-year-old runners! The team sent out 27 runners for 7 winners, 3 seconds and 4 thirds. The future looks very bright for Brendan Walsh Racing with a meet two-year-old win percentage of 26% and the only TDN Rising Star of the meet in East Avenue.
