Indigo Woods (IRE) (Blue Point (IRE) x Brushed Gold) returned to the races in stylish form this afternoon. The three-year-old filly had been freshened over the Winter after an emphatic Maiden Special Weight victory at Churchill Downs in November.
It was an impressive step forward into Stakes competition for Indigo Woods (IRE). The filly broke well and settled into stride to establish position in mid pack by the first turn. Indigo Woods (IRE) maintained a nice rhythm through most of the running of this one and one sixteenth mile affair. As the field moved through the far turn, jockey Axel Concepcion asked the filly to quicken. Indigo Woods (IRE) stormed to the lead mid stretch and managed to hold off an outer opponent to score by a half length.
