Wait For Me (The Factor x Inspector Havers) was all business in his first start at Turfway Park this evening.
The three-year-old New York bred gelding was a complete professional to secure a victory in Maiden Special Weight company under jockey Luan Machado. He broke well from an inside post and was quickly into stride to take the lead as the field moved into the first turn. Wait For Me bowled along in a lovely, comfortable rhythm down the backstretch under a firm hold. He continued to lead the field through the turn and Luan began to ask the gelding to quicken with two and a half furlongs left to run. Two outside opponents vied for the lead down the stretch but Wait For Me continued to find more run as the field approached the finish. The gelding was able to fend off the competition and crossed the finish a tenacious half length victor.
