Bourbon Memory (Bolt d’Oro x Take A Memo) added a Stakes victory to her impressive resumé with a tenacious victory in the Serena’s Song Stakes at Turfway Park this evening. The three-year-old filly, who now boasts a record of four wins from as many starts and over $150,000 in prizemoney, showed her tenacity in this six furlong affair to win by a head.
Secured for just $27,000 at 2023 Keeneland September Yearling Sale by McMahon and Hill Bloodstock, this impressive filly has certainly paid her large ownership back in dividends since her debut at Turfway in December 2024. Bourbon Memory was quick from the gates and crossed the field to position herself just behind the leaders. She began to quicken at the three-eigths pole to challenge the front runner as the field turned for home. Under steady urging from jockey Gerardo Corrarles, Bourbon Memory let down and found the finish to secure the victory by a head over a tough inside opponent.
We couldn’t be happier to see this filly secure a valuable Stakes win for this large ownership group and we look forward to watching her add to her impressive record over this Spring and Summer.
Brendan Walsh Racing had a lucrative winter at Turfway Park with sixteen wins and just under $800,000 in prizemoney for owners. This winter meet has become very competitive and we certainly look forward to returning next year.
