Gin Gin (Hightail x Before You Know It) garnered elusive Grade One success in the Juddmonte Spinster at Keeneland today. The four-year-old filly bested Champion Thorpedo Anna and Grade One winner Nitrogen among other talented fillies and mares in the $650,000 contest.

Gin Gin broke alertly to lead the field by the first turn. She showed the way down the backstretch as she galloped well within herself through moderate fractions. Jockey Luis Saez began to ask the filly to quicken through the final turn and she responded willingly to put a length between herself and the field. Gin Gin continued to find more when the field straightened for home and Nitrogen loomed up on her outside. In a display of tenacity, Gin Gin managed to stick her nose in front at the wire to secure the Grade One victory in a thrilling finish.
We couldn’t be happier for Owner/Breeder Calumet Farm and we look forward to seeing Gin Gin run in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff! Congratulations to all involved.
