Churchill Meet off to a Winning Start

Sweet Note (Hightail x Sweet Sermon) put in a professional performance to break her Maiden in the sixth race at Churchill Downs Sunday. The two-year-old Calumet homebred had been working forwardly in the mornings and we couldn’t be happier for her to break her Maiden by over three lengths.

The filly broke alertly and showed good speed to establish position just behind the leaders in the six furlong race. Sweet Note tracked a quick pace along the inside in third place going into the far turn when jockey Tyler Gaffalione asked her to begin to quicken. The filly found running room in the two path at the top of the straight and cleared her opponents by three lengths at the sixteenth pole. She continued to find the finish for Tyler to win the Maiden Special Weight event by three and a half lengths.

Congratulations to Owner/Breeders Calumet Farm, the future looks bright for this talented daughter of Hightail.
