Clicquot (Quality Road x Royal Obsession) impressed in her second effort this preparation at Keeneland. The filly took away much needed race fitness from her first start and graduated over seven furlongs in Maiden Special Weight Company today.
A three-year-old daughter of Quality Road, Clicquot appeared a consummate professional throughout the running today. She broke well and got into stride quickly to vie for the lead through the early stages of running. The filly bowled along comfortably through quick early fractions and appeared much the winner as the field cornered the final turn. When jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. asked the filly to let down and find the finish she did so willingly and quickly put a couple lengths between herself and the field. The filly continued to quicken towards the finish to graduate by an impressive six length margin.
