Pondering (Hard Spun x Always Thinking) added a Graded Stakes victory to her ever-growing resume at Woodbine this evening. The well related Godolphin homebred has gone from strength to strength this season and we are pleased to see her reward her patient connections.
The three-year-old filly broke well and showed good early speed under jockey Declan Cannon. She traveled strongly just behind the leaders down the backstretch of the seven furlong race. Pondering maintained her position on the rail until the field turned for home; when Declan tipped her out and asked her to let down to the wire. The filly responded willingly and wore down a tough inside opponent for a three-quarter length victory.
