Hereforagoodtime (Justify x First Hour) took little notice of the turf to dirt surface change and secured an impressive win in Maiden Special Weight company for her large ownership group.
Owned by Flying Dutchmen Breeding and Racing, this Justify filly has been knocking on the door all year for a win. Hereforagoodtime had two solid placings in Maiden Special Weight company on the turf at Gulfstream Park this year but was not disgraced in her efforts over the main track in 2024. This Maiden Special Weight, originally scheduled for one and one eighth miles on the turf, was moved to the main track after a huge amount of rain over the weekend. Hereforagoodtime was unfazed by the surface change and broke alertly to establish position just behind the leader through the early stages of running. The three-year-old filly remained in that stalking position under jockey Luis Saez through the backstretch and into the far turn. Hereforagoodtime was able to quicken through the final turn and ran into the straight a two and a half length leader. The filly continued to find the finish for Luis and crossed the wire just under four lengths the best of this Maiden Special Weight field.
