Imaginationthelady (Not This Time x Romanticism) annexed the Grade Two Jessamine Stakes in impressive fashion at Keeneland this afternoon. The effort secured her a spot in the prestigious Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Del Mar later this month.
Last seen winning on debut at Kentucky Downs, Imaginationthelady stepped up in a big way to secure the goods in this Grade Two affair. Ridden by Frankie Dettori, the two-year-old filly broke well from an outside post and galloped nicely to cross most of the field and settle into a comfortable position behind the leaders through the first turn. She traveled in fifth position down the backstretch and through the far turn. As the field leveled off in the straight, Frankie tipped Imaginationthelady out and the filly flew home to score by a length.
