Learntodiscover Lights Up Sunny Saratoga with Spectacular Sprinting Display

Learntodiscover (GB) produced a breathtaking display of late-running speed at Saratoga, swooping from last to first to land the Grade 3 Quick Call Stakes in eye-catching fashion.

With plenty of contenders breaking sharply from the gates, Learntodiscover found himself shuffled back through the field, settling into second last as the runners found their positions. As they approached the first turn, the five-and-a-half-furlong contest looked even tougher for the son of Havana Grey, who was completely last and seemingly faced a mountain to climb.

However, with the opening quarter clocked in a sharp 21.18 seconds, the race appeared to be setting up perfectly for a closer.

Learntodiscover remained at the back of the pack as the field turned for home, leaving jockey Tyler Gaffalione with just one option — swing wide around the entire field and unleash his late turn of foot. And that is exactly what he did.

Flying down the centre of the track in the final furlong, Learntodiscover began to reel in his rivals one by one, producing a sensational late surge to hit the wire a head in front and secure a memorable victory in the Grade 3 Quick Call Stakes.

It was a spectacular display of sprinting speed and determination at one of America’s most iconic racecourses, with Learntodiscover showing exactly what he can do when given the opportunity to unleash his powerful finishing kick.

Huge congratulations to owner Mark Dobbin and jockey Tyler Gaffalione on this fantastic performance and a truly memorable afternoon at sunny Saratoga!
