Lush Lips (GB) (Ten Sovereigns (IRE) x Lamyaa (GB)) returned to the races in brilliant fashion for new Owner Dixiana Farms LLC. The filly most recently won the Grade One QEII at Keeneland and subsequently topped the Keeneland November Sale for $3.7 million dollars.
The talented bay filly didn’t miss a beat in this one and one sixteenth mile Grade Two affair. She showed good early speed from her rail position to secure a running spot just behind the leader at the first turn. Lush Lips (GB) galloped along in a lovely rhythm behind the leader for jockey Tyler Gaffalione. She began to make a move around the far turn and was head to head with the leader as the field straightened. The filly saw off a tough inner opponent and crossed the finish a half length winner under a hand ride from Gaffalione.
We couldn’t be happier for this filly to reap immediate rewards for Dixiana Farms LLC and we look forward to getting her back to the races this winter. Congratulations to all involved.
