Novara Breaks Maiden Impressively

Novara (Speightstown x Sentiero Italia) ran away an impressive winner at Horseshoe Indianapolis. The three-year-old filly has been competitive in Maiden Special Weight company all year and we are pleased to see her finally get to the Winner’s Circle.

Novara went off the even money favorite and didn’t disappoint the market with a nearly five length margin of victory. She began well and established position in the middle of the field under jockey Luan Machado. The filly traveled in relaxed fashion behind a steady pace through the first turn and down the backstretch. Novara held her position on the rail through the final turn, when she tipped out for running room. The filly flew past her opponents in the stretch to pass the finish an easy winner.

This filly is a half sister to Brendan Walsh trained Multiple Grade One winner Santin and we couldn’t be happier to get a win under her belt. The penny appears to have dropped for this ever-improving filly so we look forward to seeing how she can build on this performance. Congratulations to winning Owner/Breeder Godolphin.
