Pretty Mischievous’ Sister a TDN Rising Star at Fairgrounds

Pretty Sassy (Medaglia d’Oro x Pretty City Dancer) ran home an impressive seven and a half length victor at the Fairgrounds today. The three-year-old half sister to Kentucky Oaks heroine and 2023 Champion Three-Year-Old Filly Pretty Mischievous earned a TDN Rising Star for the effort in the One and One Sixteenth Mile Maiden Special Weight race.

Pretty Sassy didn’t disappoint in her first run at Churchill Downs in November and clearly took plenty of improvement from the effort. She was certainly all business today as she broke well and moved into position just behind the leaders. The filly traveled nicely under jockey Edgar Morales through the first turn and down the backstretch. She held that position through the final turn and moved strongly into the bridle as the field reached the top of the straight. Edgar was able to tip the filly out and ask her to find the finish with two furlongs left to run. Pretty Sassy made easy work of her opponents, eased down in the final sixteenth to win by almost eight lengths on the wire. It was a facile victory for the talented filly, who appears to be a progressive type with plenty of improvement still to come.

Congratulations to Owner/Breeder Godolphin and everyone connected to this exciting filly. We certainly look forward to seeing where she takes us this Spring!
