Proctor Street (Street Sense x Proctor’s Ledge) impressed in her first Stakes win at Churchill Downs today. A daughter of Brendan Walsh trained, Graded Stakes winner Proctor’s Ledge, Proctor Street’s victory was sentimental for all involved.
The bay filly has turned into an impressive racehorse and now boasts a record of five wins from eight starts. Proctor Street wanted to race a bit keen after she broke well but settled nicely under jockey Tyler Gaffalione through the first turn. She maintained fifth position down the backstretch and traveled strongly into the far turn. All she needed was running room, which she got with about an eighth of a mile left to run. Proctor Street snuck through a tight gap and flew home to capture the victory by three quarters of a length.
Congratulations to Owner/Breeder Patricia Moseley and everyone connected to this talented filly. We look forward to a competitive Winter in Florida with her.
