Promising Three-Year-Old Winners in Gulfstream and Fair grounds

Brendan Walsh Racing had exciting winners in Florida and Louisiana today. It is an exciting time of year to have three-year-olds going to the Winners’ Circle and we look forward to seeing what these two can achieve moving forward this Spring.

Pretty Sassy shows her grit to run down an opponent and win an Allowance

Pretty Sassy (Medaglia D’Oro x Pretty City Dancer) was a tenacious winner of a mile and one sixteenth Allowance at the Fair Grounds. The talented half sister to Kentucky Oaks winner Pretty Mischievous raced very professionally throughout this affair; she broke well and relaxed nicely for jockey Edgar Morales in third position. Pretty Sassy was forced to make her own luck as she had to thread the needle between the two leaders and make up two lengths to catch an outside opponent. She showed plenty of class in this effort – as it appeared she may be bested with one furlong to run – but she managed to let down and catch the leader strides from the wire to win by a head. We couldn’t be happier to see this filly add an Allowance to her list of accolades. Congratulations to winning Owner/Breeder Godolphin and all others connected to this exciting filly.

Gosger (Nyquist x Gloria S) improved in his second run to win a highly-touted Maiden Special Weight at Gulfstream Park. The three-year-old colt benefitted from his first up run and the added distance in the one mile affair. He jumped well from the gates and moved forward from an outside post to establish position just outside of the leader. Gosger bowled along in a lovely rhythm under jockey Edgard Zayas and took command at the three eighths pole with very little effort. The colt continued to quicken as he led the field around the far turn and ran into the straight with a three length advantage. He continued to find the finish and ran away a one and a half length victor. Congratulations to Owner/Breeder Harvey A. Clarke Racing Stables, LLC and all others connected to this promising colt. It is an exciting time of year to have a colt improving so we look forward to seeing what he can achieve moving forward!
