Sassy Princess (Cairo Prince x Rachel Wall) provided Brendan Walsh Racing with their first victory of the Saratoga meet this afternoon.
The filly appreciated the class relief in this one and one sixteenth mile turf event. She broke well and settled into a good rhythm under jockey Luis Saez through the early stages of running. Sassy Princess bowled along willingly in mid pack down the backstretch before she was asked to quicken as the field entered the final turn. The filly was well within striking distance as the field straightened for home and managed to take the lead with a furlong to run. She continued to find the finish to win by a half length on the wire.
