Longtime stable employee Milver Martinez has been selected as a finalist for the “Dedication to Racing” Thoroughbred Industry Employee Award.
We could not be happier to have Milver recognized for his hard work in the stable. During his time with Brendan Walsh, Milver has worked his way from Hot Walker to Groom and now holds a managerial role as a Foreperson. He has grown to be an integral part of the team in Churchill, Saratoga and Palm Meadows.
Milver has excellent horsemanship skills, which he displays anytime needed and he can often be found grooming extra horses or hotwalking as needed. There is no job too big or small for Milver and he undertakes all tasks with willingly.
In addition to his hands on skillset, Milver is bilingual and often acts as a translator between team members. Milver actively participates and organizes backstretch activities for peers of all backgrounds. He is involved in a band and very active with the community Church. Milver is an exemplary person, with many characteristics of leadership and goes above and beyond in his work for Brendan Walsh Racing everyday. Thank you Milver!
